Some of the most phenomenal work in special education that I have ever seen. I have volunteered with special needs children here and even if a child has a meltdown or threatens teachers or students, the team here handles high-needs children with love and care but strict firmness. The special needs dog they bring to the school (Mollie) I have seen bring a child from meltdown to smiling. Thank you to the hard work of the special needs teachers here in the Rainbow Room. As a child with Autism, I wish I'd had the Rainbow Room as a place for me to escape to when I was a child.

A great leader in the primary schools arena. Teaching is very effective. Eldest son excelled here and was accepted by Aviation High School. Second son doing great. Fantastic team of educators despite the pressures. Wonderful leader in Glen Robertson - the principal. We are forever grateful!

Has gone downhill in the last 2-4 years.
If it had just been us & our child then it would be a different matter. But, after asking numerous parents to see if they have the same/similar experiences/views we have moved our child - education happens once and if it stuffed up it is stuffed up for life.
The standard of teaching and discipline at the school has plummeted. Homework often not even checked and kids complaining that homework covers things they have not even been taught. Our child has gone backwards with her Maths, Spelling and comprehension. A year ago she was enthusiastic and eager to learn. Now, all enthusiasm has gone and just has stories of the bad things going on there (no, we don't just take her word for it we chat with other parents).
Discipline is practically non-existant and bullying rife. Rocks being thrown, teachers abused, kids picked on without repercussions.
Communication is terrible - a bunch of kids were even left wandering around without school/teacher supervision for over an hour when a 7:30am music class was cancelled without warning and with no standin/replacement.
This is a school with leadership issues and it is failing the kids. Not all the teachers at the school should be tarred with this brush; some are great. This issues appear to come from the leadership team.
We have, very reluctantly with a lot of thought and chatting to other parents, moved her to another school. It was not done lightly. But, a kid gets one chance of a good education; stuff it up and the kids pays for it for the rest of her life.
Update
======
Our kid is simply blossoming in the new school. Discipline good and standard of teaching the absolute opposite of Bald Hills.
Have been chatting with a couple of other parents with kids at the school. All I can say is; if you value your kids education and mental wellbeing avoid Bald Hills State School like the plague. Until the Principle and deputy's are replaced this is a school that will be a problem. Dreadful.
