Mount Gravatt East State School

Mount Gravatt east state school is a cool school I was a student there since 2015 to 2020, however in 2016 I was bullied for having no teeth in the middle and made fun of my Last name and being called eggs beggs it was annoying but my bully got suspended many times and never came back but everything has changed now but the thing is the government needs to update the playground equipment because it has be there forever and when a new one gets built everyone will be happy for sure

I have a child in prep there this year and we couldn't be happier! I think it's a really nice friendly supportive primary school, and I would highly recommend it! When asking around beforehand, I noticed a bit of a (previously) bad reputation of the school but I think this is unfounded and might have been related to headmasters from a while ago. The current headmaster (Rachel Korst) seems to be doing a brilliant job in keeping all the staff motivated and cheerful. I love their smiling happy faces when I drop off my child in the morning in the drop off zone of prep. The school is small which I think for a primary school is a good thing (might mean fewer opportunities with music and bands though but I don't mind). Communication from the school to the parents is working well. I also like that there is a C&K Kindy next to it, which my child went to as well. I was hoping that more children from the kindy would stay on for prep but sadly many parents chose other schools for their children. I think only 4 children continued on at Mount Gravatt East SS which I thought was a pity but not the fault of the school. Parents are spoilt for choices of schools in the area. This school is a good one!

This is a hidden gem which I am glad people underrate in preference of its nearby nearby neighbour Mansfield Primary. With a C & K attached to the school you have the opportunity for a fully integrated education all the way from Kindergarten all the way through to year 6. The teachers are dedicated, professional, and attempt to meet each child at their current level of learning and strive to challenge them to improve. The emphasis on learning to read means that as literacy within the school has accelerated so has the capabilities with the other areas of the curriculum improved. The size of the school also means that no one ever gets lost in the system. I truly hope this school maintains its magic as it continues to grow as it has been a wonderful experience watching my child beginning to blossom

graduated 2011 and miss it so much! great school and awesome, friendly teachers. so close to the students this school is a one of a kind. everone is treated equally
