I have known Mrs Tanner ( the headteacher and proprietor of Queenswood) for many years since we studied together. I have always been impressed by her kindness, wit, intelligence and integrity. I have been equally impressed with her school from the very first day that I visited. I shouldn't really say 'her school' because it is quite clear that the school belongs to everyone who participates in it's daily life -staff, pupils and parents. I was a primary teacher for 27 years and I know that the curriculum at Queenswood is as rigorous, vibrant and challenging as that in any state primary school. Furthermore, the children are wonderful-confident and chatty, but always respectful. When Mrs Tanner asked me to be Safeguarding Governor for the school I did not hesitate for a second; I consider it a privilege to be associated with such an impressive school, it's dedicated staff and it's wonderful pupils.
