+ A lovely school for girls with every opportunity to thrive. Well-rounded in terms of academics, sports and music with some arts. Very caring and supportive staff. Subject selection is very good although most notably missing applied subjects such as Woodwork and community service/volunteering opportunities and initiatives. Campus is outstanding.
- Girls are more reluctant to foster a supportive environment for each other in a general sense. This shows at MBC in the lack of pride they have for their school. This is a shame as the school appears to work hard on the girls’ well-being. I would have loved an opportunity to go to a school like this as a girl.
- Average girls tend to slip through the cracks at MBC - one of my daughters is shy and could use a lot more encouragement to participate. She got to Year 10 and felt it was too late to start new things as teams and favourites were already well established. Perhaps compulsory participation in at least one thing per term should be considered to teach girls they must not only take but also contribute to the community. A school doesn’t need to work on the children that put themselves forward willingly. The mark of a great school is one in which the ones in the shadows thrive.
- There is a notable lack of discipline (which no doubt has to do with parental pressure). Still, I would like to see more detentions and accountability for things like tardiness, missing school events without a doctors note and the like. The PB demerit system never seems to have any consequence. My notoriously late daughter simply has to say she missed the bus to avoid repercussions for arriving an hour late to school. Unlike my son’s school, MBC never verifies this with me on the phone. Further, an SMS is sent when absent but never followed up with a call. Extremely poor governance.
Overall, a good school with a rich history, good Old Girl network, weak social opportunities/sense of community although a high calibre of staff and facilities. If your daughter wants to make the most out of her years at school, she can get it here. If she is shy, timid, anxious or a misfit, it is not for her.

This school is wonderful! My daughter loves it, she actually gets excited to go to school. The facilities are wonderful amd the teachers really seem to enjoy there profession. There are so many opportunities for girls to excel and try nee things and explore new opportunities. Highly recommend. A+++

If you are thinking of enrolling your child at Moreton Bay College, think again.
We are normal parents who just wanted a good education for our daughter as does everyone.
Our child was ostracised and bullied by Moreton Bay college, we were forced to remove her from the school. When we complained, they refused to communicate, all they were interested in was the money, not our child’s welfare. We were locked out of the portal as soon as we removed her from the school, even though we were still payed 7weeks in advance of that term with our child not being there. They want another full terms worth of money. They put debt collectors onto us with a threat of going to court.
The only witness in a court situation will be your 10yr daughter against the school. No parent wants to put a child through a situation like this.

It was a good school, I just didn’t feel that I fit in there. I wasn’t smart or sport so no one really cared... all the sporty girls were mean to me and thought they were better then everyone else. Overall it was a good school it just wasn’t for me and the way they taught wasn’t easy for me to understand.

Beautiful school with wonderful, enthusiastic and attentive teachers. Even the other staff - librarians, tuckshop ladies, groundskeepers, student reception ladies - are always so friendly and welcoming. I loved my time there.
