Queensland Academy for Creative Industries

The Queensland Academies Creative Industries (QACI) Campus is a proudly inclusive community of innovative and creative thinkers who seek opportunities to ignite their curiosity, develop global and intercultural perspectives and foster a love of lifelong learning. Established in 2007 in the heart of Brisbane's inner-city, Kelvin Grove Urban Village, QACI is a selective-entry state high school for highly capable students in Years 10 to 12. QACI exclusively offers the rigorous International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme — an internationally recognised pre-university level qualification, enabling learners to work toward achievements, based on merit, in a non-competitive environment. Students seek a rich and integrated academic curriculum and collaborative learning experiences. Through the IB Diploma curriculum, students flourish in a culture that fosters creative and critical thinking, innovation and enterprise. Co-located with the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), QACI learners develop university research skills and gain opportunities for real life industry experience and involvement across all industry sectors. Students enjoy the surrounding university environment, such as access to QUT's library resources, to extend their higher level learning. Our school spans seven levels of a purpose-built building in the centre of the Kelvin Grove Urban Village and QUT precinct. Alternatively, students may apply to study one of the International Baccalaureate’s range of 55 languages (studied independently through distance education). Examples of previously studied languages include Korean, Japanese, Chinese, German and Russian.
