Built by the community for the community, our values are defined in our school motto, Unity | Christ | Learning, and remain as strong today as they were when we first opened in 1982.
Located 20 minutes south of Brisbane's CBD, John Paul College (JPC) features extensive natural bushland and modern facilities to support a cutting-edge technology program and wide-ranging cultural and sporting opportunities. JPC's close proximity to the CBD ensures convenient and local bus routes are available in your local area for students.
JPC delivers a contemporary co-educational curriculum grounded in traditional values from Early Learning to Year 12. Our students are at the heart of all we do, and this is reflected in our purpose: To Educate, To Inspire, To Make a Difference.
We know that being prepared for the future — setting goals, choosing a pathway, overcoming obstacles and conquering challenges — gives your child a head start for their life ahead. JPC presents your child with the ultimate preparation for that future, for the pursuit of their future self. We are proud to help prepare our students for their personal quest to change the world, to make a difference.
Our learning community provides your family with the opportunity to reach their individual potential for living a contributing and fulfilling life, one where Christian Ecumenism is foundational, where our values are embraced, where mutual respect demands a hospitality that reaches out and welcomes people of all cultures and faiths, and where excellence in every endeavour is sought and applauded.
To help you realise your child's goals, we offer a wide range of subjects and VET pathways to explore. We continually strive to tailor an individual journey for each one of our students with the delivery of our Academic Welfare programs, which support and aid students in all aspects of their social, academic and co-curricular journeys.
Our extensive co-curricular programs in Performing Arts and Sport and Activities offer students endless opportunities to grow, develop confidence and become specialists in their own fields.

I was a student in the 90's. There were some very good teachers but also some dreadful teachers. Several teachers were bullies, there were plenty of incompetent teachers & a lack of support for vulnerable students. I myself am dyslexic so got dragged out of standard English class & stuck in remedial flying though kids books as the "teacher" failed to realise I didn't belong there. Mainly because, she did belong in remedial, total muppet. Then two years before gcse's I was dumped back into mainstream English completely out of my depth. I left with no qualifications which made life difficult.
The board of governors were idiots then & probably are today. Judging by reviews it seems the school hasn't improved. Maybe they should listen to students more, after all, that's part of their job. I doubt things will ever change.

Don't be fooled about the 'Catholic' bit, just like any other school if not worse. Most (not all) teachers are awful. They have no interest in teaching at all and have no control over their class. Worst of all they are the bullies. I get its tough but the good kids get branded with the same brush as the trouble makers.
Traumatic experience for my kids and just hope when they FINALLY leave will walk away with decent GCSE's. I have to keep reminding my kids 'just get through it'. Sad.

Terrible experience. They were ignoring all medical professional's and council's recommendations and the only important thing was attendance. My son got a PTSD there after the Headteacher threatened and humiliated him. Quite similar stories other parents were sharing. My son is thriving in his new school.

Outstanding secondary school and 6th Form college. School has strict discipline and uniform policy.
There appears to be a culture of learning and encouraging students who have the potential of achieving high grades get special attention and support to achieve their full academic potential.

This is a very terrible school, being at this school myself I know the trouble it causes and the teachers do nothing about bullying. So much so to the point where my own father had to remove me from school and the deputy head teacher said "that's probably for the best" ??? What kind of school agrees getting rid of the victim is the best option than to sort the bullies out?
Never go to this school, you won't learn anything and I am doing very well despite leaving this school early.
