British had made something useful for us, and Carmichael College is one of them. Very wide area but kind of scary if an alone girl goes through the jungle at night

Old famous prominent college have a dinastic royal main building with other buildings and a very big campus and hostels for boys and girls ... Here studies intermidiate and also graduation and post graduation courses under Bangladesh national university....

From the beginning the college was under Calcutta University. It is then nationalized on 1 July 1963. Then in 1992, it came under Bangladesh National University. It was started in 1921 by the name of British Lord Carmichael. Carmichael college is the biggest college in south Asia build on 900 acors of Land. But now the total area has reduced as other educational institutions build on its land. The college is located in the center of the town and numbers of students come from Rangpur as well as surrounding districts. I like the greenery and the environment. This college should have been upgraded to a full university but unfortunately, it hasn't. I have heard a number of reasons, but I am not sure which is the right reason. This college is absolutely a beautiful building to look at and carries a long history of educational system starting from British, East Pakistan and now Bangladesh. If you haven't seen this College, you should pay a visit to this century old beautiful college. Peace!!!
