Deception Bay State School

Extremely low level of education and absolutely no care for the students. Will suspend students instead of addressing the issues with the child and have a very patronising attitude towards parents. They do not provide students with books to take home for reading, so in grade 2 students can’t read or know their lefts and rights. Have a very ‘don’t want to deal with it’ attitude yet will claim they ‘are there to help’, making it exhausting and seemingly impossible to address issues. My son was persecuted by certain staff, they would tell me one thing has happened, set consequences for that yet my son and his actual teacher would then tell me an entirely different thing happened. My vulnerable son was suspended for reacting to bullying or physical assaults on him and the students that were responsible were protected. They don’t actually let you or the child know about the suspensions either or provide any work to do at home. The parents don’t seem to get dressed by school pick up time or are severely obese. Students aren’t allowed to use the oval at lunchtimes.

Suspended my son without informing us, My wife called the office after missing the call with no reponses, apond Drop off Monday morning was told he was suspened. Teacher said didnt want to leave a message with my voice mail is it will charge the school a fee. My Son is 6 and has ADHD, they dont have training or nohow or FUNDING to support child with extra Needs let alone Leave a voice message on a Friday afternoon. Extremely disappointing.
