Matthew Flinders Anglican College is one of Queensland’s leading independent co-educational private schools. Flinders prides itself on educating for excellence in learning and life.   Set on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Queensland, on a rainforest-fringed campus, our college has a mission to challenge and support our 1,380 students from Prep to Year 12. Students are guided to explore and uphold the college values of Courage, Respect, Integrity and Compassion. This focus enables students to develop the competencies of character, academic excellence, contribution and leadership for a successful future.    Families at Flinders appreciate the school culture and environment as it promotes academic excellence, inspires intellectual curiosity, expects personal accountability and instils a genuine passion for learning. Students are encouraged to develop their personal Learner Profiles and partake in extension subjects and differentiated learning classes so they may realise their full potential as learners during their journey at Flinders.    The passion for learning at Flinders is evident in the strong results achieved by the college’s graduating Class of 2022, with a median ATAR of 92.45. There were 10 students who achieved an ATAR of 99 and above, while 21 Flinders students achieved an ATAR of 98 and above. Flinders Class of 2022 ATAR Results Snapshot:
Student life at Flinders is rich and diverse, with a rigorous and personalised academic program and co-curricular opportunities across sporting, music, creative arts, cultural and recreational endeavours, as well as projects to develop leadership, entrepreneurialism, citizenship and ethical learning.  The culture at Flinders is one of participation as students are encouraged to embrace the many opportunities available to them at the college. Along the way, students develop their character, confidence and skills and learn how to contribute to making the world a better place.     The college is innovating and planning for the future with the new Flinders Masterplan (2019–2024). The project is providing a suite of contemporary facilities to enhance effective teaching and learning. Completed Masterplan projects include the new Year 7 Precinct, the Flagship Centre for our Years 5 and 6 students and the new Wonderarium learning centre in the Primary School. A state-of-the-art two-storey Design Centre will open in the Secondary School in 2024. Our Flinders community of board, staff, parents, alumni, local community members and volunteers works as a team to support every student from our young Preppies up to our Year 12 graduates. The Flinders Primary School includes two sub-schools: Junior Primary (Prep to Year 3) and the Senior Primary (Years 4 to 6). Meanwhile, the Secondary School is characterised by Middle School (Years 7 to 9) and Senior School (Years 10 to 12). There is also the Flinders Early Learning Centre to support families with children from three-to six-years of age through creative Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs. At Flinders we set high expectations for our students, and we are careful to ensure they have access to a strong support, wellbeing and pastoral care network. We want our students to understand that they are seen, cared for, listened to, respected and supported by a strong and caring school community. The pastoral and academic progress of every child is monitored closely by each class teacher or mentor, who are the cornerstone of pastoral care. Further support is provided through Heads of House, Year Level Co-ordinators, Heads of Sub-schools, College Chaplain, Counsellors and the wider Flinders community. Students from Years 7–12 undertake a variety of formal lessons, activities and presentations related to personal and wellness development through our WELL4Life program. This program incorporates four dimensions that include the WELL4Life curriculum, Enterprise projects, Life Adventures and Leadership opportunities. In terms of life beyond Flinders for our graduating Year 12 students, there are many quality career services provided to our students and parents. Counselling and assistance are available for subject selections, post-school pathway decisions and tertiary applications. Our Old Flinderians’ Association is our alumni community which supports our students to care for and connect with one another as they journey through life, well beyond the school gates.    Personalised tours of the Flinders campus are offered to families considering a quality education at Flinders. To learn more and book your tour of Flinders, please visit https://www.mfac.edu.au/enrolments/book-your-tour.

This school is only about image !If you send your child to this school they will suffer!

Café prices rising faster than petrol prices. Can someone please explain to me how a single roll of chicky-avo sushi costs more than 2.5 litres of petrol? The price of cinnamon scrolls have also gone up from $2.50 to $3.50 in two years. From the looks of things there’s about to be a secret coffee market starting up between the seniors, where it’s possible to get a coffee for less than an equivalent size boba at the plaza.

An amazing school that has a positive culture and cares about its students well being. It has modern facilities that encompass a high tech auditorium, huge indoor sports centre and the most up to date learning centres. The school encourages children to participate in all forms of sporting, cultural, environmental and musical co curriculums. Teaching staff have been exceptional. Our child has had every opportunity available to grow and nurture his academic and sporting achievements with the support of his school and fellow students. We are definitely proud Flinders Supporters 🥰

The leadership of Junior Primary needs a serious shake-up. Really out of touch and behind the times. Friends of ours removed their excelling and talented child recently from this school, and they are not alone. Hopefully the Principal will take heed and do something about the "leadership". Utterly disgraceful.
