Our over-arching goal is to support and develop each student so that she leaves school with the skills, knowledge, and values necessary to navigate the complexities of 21st-Century life. Learning at MLC focuses on building respectful relationships, sparking curiosity, embedding critical thinking, and instilling the confidence to think creatively. As a non-denominational and multi-cultural college, we value diversity and broad expressions of achievement. At MLC, every student finds her niche. Whether your daughter enjoys sport, science, mathematics, music, languages, the dramatic arts, fine arts, music, or co-curricular activities such as community service, debating, or clubs and societies, at MLC she will find world-class teachers, extraordinary facilities, and like-minded students to inspire and welcome her on her journey. As your child progresses, increasing levels of subject choice and learning pathways enable her to build upon her interests and strengths. In Year 10, students can choose from over 40 elective subjects, and this choice expands further with over 60 subjects on offer across VCE, VCE VET and the International Baccalaureate (IB). Along the way, our experienced careers counsellors are there to help your daughter articulate her dreams and goals and chart her pathway from secondary school to tertiary education and beyond. Student wellbeing is fundamental to the MLC experience. We integrate the latest research into the classroom through a wide range of supportive programs designed to resonate deeply with our students. Every student has a designated teacher personally responsible for her wellbeing, who together with a team of teachers and support staff, act as a focal point across a larger on-campus support network. We also offer more than 30 sports to encourage students of all ages and abilities to stay active. Our students have access to expert coaching, world class facilities, and a diverse range of group and individual sporting opportunities, including rowing, swimming, AFL, netball, and gymnastics. We also complement our sports offerings with a focus on holistic health, fitness classes, nutrition, and mindfulness, so that students acquire a vast toolbox of resources for self-care and healthy habits. Our staff are at the top of their fields. With a balanced ratio of male and female teachers, the majority of our educators stay with MLC for many years and benefit from extensive and ongoing professional development. Our teaching staff frequently hold varied and successful careers in other fields before or alongside becoming teachers and bring real-world expertise into the classroom. MLC specifically looks at the level of knowledge and passion in our teaching staff that is not found anywhere else. We also employ many VCE examiners and Chief Assessors, enabling our teachers and support staff to confidently prepare students for their Senior Years. In fact, MLC has one of the largest groups of VCE examiners and Chief Assessors of any Victorian school. MLC has over 137 years' experience in successfully educating girls to be the citizens the world needs. MLC teaching and educational support staff understand girls and the way they learn, develop and communicate. Our programs have been specifically designed to help girls achieve their best, and their effectiveness is reflected in our consistently outstanding academic results as well as our students' achievements and successes in all areas of school life and beyond. Subject variety is the hallmark of an MLC education. The college offers a broad, supportive, and comprehensive learning experience in Years Prep–6, and one of the most extensive and engaging Years 7–12 curriculum offerings in Australia. These subjects are the foundation of MLC’s students' education, integrated into all year levels' curriculum starting from MLC Kindle all the way into Senior School: MLC offers students' endless options to explore areas of study that pique their interests. Each school, from Junior School to Senior School, has its own opportunities for discovery: These are optional activities for your daughter to participate in, in addition to her school day. MLC students embrace these opportunities! These activities are scheduled before school, after school, or during lunchtimes. There is a myriad of opportunities to participate, make new friends, get involved and experience new challenges through House activities, sport, clubs, the arts and even international trips and tours.

Honestly have to say, the environment is good enough for students to develop and provide relatively good education^^ But the shameful part is the BOARDING HOUSE…I do not know how they employ teachers to the boarding community, the teachers are very impolite and being racist. I have to say even being a White, I feel sorry to see how some teachers treat international kids…it’s very speechless and irritated to see when they slap the door,,,, and sometimes when they are tired and annoyed, they show it out and literally roll their eyes and “care” students insincere,,, I feel OFFENDED and DISRESPECTFUL!!! Their attitude are like “oh, we are here for money, not for caring”…. I feel angry writing this and thinking back, anyways, just go to school and NEVER board!!!!!

My parents thought this place would be best for me, I regret not begging them to send me to a public school. The school offered subjects that interested my young mind but then the school preached that to be a good person and to live a good life you must achieve greatness. They instilled an unhealthy mindset I’m still working on fixing myself. They set you up to be unhappy and depressed in life and despite all the additional classes they fit into my schedule, I graduated still not knowing how to pay my taxes. I am worse off for having gone to this school. I have mental and physical scars to remember it by. Additional note, how can such an expensive school have such expensive yet poor quality and uncomfortable uniforms? I was always sick because they weren’t warm enough and when I fell, the plastic tracksuit pants melted onto my legs. But of course, instead of them guiding the youth, they are just teaching us that sometimes things don’t make sense and adults will give you detention for not wearing a star badge between your developing breasts to attract more cat calls on your walks home from school or you will be reprimanded and held back after school.

I have been sending my daughter to this school for quite a few years and I must say it's been a wonderful school for her. The caring teachers, the facilities, the sports offered and the music tuition. Yes it's a big school but it offers so many subjects for VCE and the option of doing the International baccalaureate. My daughter has gained so much more confidence from going to this school and her friends are all so lovely. I couldn't be happier with the school.
