Mentone Girls’ Secondary College (MGSC) is an exemplary government school with a thriving educational community. The Enhancement Program runs from Years 7 to 9 and provides students with the opportunity to learn through higher-order thinking, inquiry and rich tasks as part of an enhanced curriculum in English, Mathematics, Humanities and Science. Rather than accelerating or compacting curriculum, students in the Enhancement Program work on more complex tasks and will learn topics to a greater depth and breadth. Students are able to access VCE studies in Year 10.  Our music program offers students an opportunity to join a band in Year 7 and 8 or participate in a broad range of instrumental music classes, ensembles and bands in our dedicated Performing Arts Centre. As a school with a rich history of educating young women to take their place in a globalised world, our dedicated teachers are always seeking to innovate the curriculum and remain at the forefront of educational theory and practice. We are committed to providing an environment that nurtures the mind, body and spirit.
