Details

Braemar College is a regional, independent, coeducational school of choice. The new Woodend Campus, located east of Woodend, is home to the Middle School, while the Mount Macedon Campus, located on the northern slopes of Mount Macedon, remains the home of the Senior School.  At Braemar College, we strive to achieve optimal student engagement, instilling a motivation to learn that enables young people to realise their potential. Contemporary learning and teaching practices foster creativity, innovation, and critical thinking. We pride ourselves on a school culture that celebrates academic endeavour and achievement.   We seek to nurture the whole student through wellbeing programs that promote positive relationships, support individual differences, and ensure students have the best possible opportunities to develop in mind, body, and spirit. We encourage participation in a wide range of co-curricular activities, including sport and the arts.   Braemar College values strong community connections. Through service opportunities, we encourage young people to be active contributors to their community, both locally and globally. This fosters a sense of community, compassion, mutual respect, and integrity.   Our strategic vision is to become an ELC to Year 12 school; future development of Braemar’s Woodend Campus supports that vision.

The school is not fair to the students. Forcing students to sign behaviour

I want to say that braemar is a good international high school, you don't need to worry about your pronunciation as an international student. But, if you want to get over 90 here, IT IS TOUGH. The teachers here are nice, absolutely…But, the teacher always always always can find problems, they will say you are good, you have talent, a lot of good sentences, then give you a 82, or a 78. I always under big pressure, because I thought those bad marks are all because I didn't work hard. Then I found I have severe anxiety disorder. Braemar is good, two years here let me know I AM NOTHING.

I was studying in Braemar only 1 year (12th grade) and I made a right choice to study here. Only positive experience. Teachers are attentive to students and eager to help. If you have any questions or problems the staff will always help you to address them.

The type of place that you sometimes hate during your study period and absolutely miss and love after graduation. My buddies and most of the teachers really left an everlasting memory in my heart. Obviously, as any other place there were some flaws but overall it was and still is a great school :)

The best school I have ever been to. I was amazed by this not too big , but very friendly place. The amount of people in the classrooms varies from 6-24 , which gives an opportunity to communicate with a teacher freely ( even if it is 24 ppl). The teachers are outgoing. It is always fun to go through even the hardest materials as all in the classroom are very helpful . The structure of the classes is convenient (2-3 subjects per semester) because it gives time to understand the material thoroughly, do the homework and have some free time. The school has all the amenities you need. I am very appreciated that I was a part of such a great team for 3 years. Very Recommend.
