Just went to my 25 year reunion. Brought back so many wonderful memories. My father and grandfather also went to Wesley and also loved it. Highly recommend sending your kids there. It offers just about anything a school could: - academics including IB, high level maths, physics, philosophy; - sports including gymnastics, interschool skiing, rowing, diving; - arts including theatre, music, photography, sculpture, painting; and much more. There were some great teachers, some of whom care so much they came to our reunion 25 years on (even though they are no longer employed there, as retirees). The most lasting benefit is most of my close friends, even though I live in another state, are my friends from this amazing school - Wesley.

I hated going to Wesley. They're a very "artsy" school. There is a huge push to do degrees like "arts" or "humanities" that don't lead to a stable job or career. Many students struggled to find a job, or ended up unemployed. It's not zoned so the cohort of students come from all corners of Melbourne, including lots of international students, so students may not make any friends from their local area, making them isolated. We were forced to do Saturday sport, so every Saturday my parents had to drive me all over Melbourne to go to netball or tennis, which I hated. You couldn't see where the money was going! If there had of been free horse riding or skiing then maybe I would of seen where some of the money was actually going... The fees were not spent on better teachers or smaller class sizes. Wesley had no involvement with the local community, there were no charity workshops, helping at local soup kitchens for the needy, or anything like that. It had a very weak connection to the local community and didn't teach morals or values. Research has proven that private schools don't improve kids academic success per se (the cohort of students going to private schools tend to get better marks anyway).

The best co-ed private school in Melbourne. Wish my parents could afford to send me here for my last two years of high school

When i attended this school i was punched in the stomach and thrown to the ground by my PE teacher in front of the class. I was abused and subject to vast cruelty during my Clunes camp experience that will never be justified nor forgotten. Go to St Michaels or Caulfield.

this school is all backwards with no style and no progression, all the admin staff need to be retired (long overdue) and replaced , not happy with the tour and the school has a deathly feel to it. please avoid If you have any self responsibility for your kids and or loved ones of relatives, they should go to the Middle East and see how real schools operate.
