Established in 1998 by Carey Baptist Church, Carey Baptist College has grown into a leading Christian education provider in the south-east corridor of Perth. Our founding campus, Carey Harrisdale, has grown to educate more than 1,500 students from Kindergarten to Year 12.
Our Forrestdale Campus opened in 2016 and has partnered with local families in developing a vibrant community with an expanding offering of Primary and Secondary education. The Forrestdale Campus currently educates students in Kindergarten to Year 11 and will be a Kindergarten to Year 12 school in 2024.
The campuses are also home to Carey Baptist Church and Jump Carey Early Development.
Carey has an open enrolment policy, creating a beautifully diverse community with a range of nationalities and religions, based on our Christian foundations and a value-based philosophy.
Our values of Courage, Respect, Humility, Integrity and Kindness underpin all that we do, shaping our pastoral care, discipline and our focus on lifelong learning. More than 20 years of experience in providing quality education has enabled us to refine our educational delivery and maintain a culture of academic rigour and maximised potential.
There is much research about the impact that teachers have on student learning and their influence in shaping young lives. Working at Carey is more than just a career for our staff – it is a vocation that reflects their passion to see students flourish.
Visitors to our college campuses frequently make the comment that there is ‘something special’ about Carey. We encourage you to make a visit, tour the college and experience for yourself that ‘something special’. You too, will be warmly welcomed as you tour our campuses, meet our staff and discover what a Carey education would mean for your child.
Deeply embedded in Carey’s DNA is a commitment to see young people develop compassionate hearts, recognising where others are in need and being motivated to alleviate suffering.
It is our hope that when students complete their time at Carey, they will leave us enriched and equipped for the future. This includes having a sense of their intrinsic worth which, when fuelled with passion, enables them to meaningfully engage in a rich and fulfilling future, making a difference in the lives of others.
Relationships are foundational to how we approach pastoral care at Carey. Our educators and staff are committed to building positive and meaningful relationships to optimise your child’s learning potential. Beginning in kindergarten, our philosophy is underpinned by this values-based culture. In secondary school, positive, healthy relationships assist our students to effectively navigate the challenges of adolescence and help to thrive in the school environment.
Carey will continue to provide a curriculum that can meet the needs of all students. Our teachers use a variety of different teaching methodologies to inspire learning and connection, and our open-door policy encourages parents and students to speak with teachers regarding any issues. We have graduation pathways that are suited to the individual skills and interests of each student and importantly are about establishing secure pathways into university or the vocational and training sector. Carey offers more than 40 WACE courses, catering for a complete range of interests and abilities. We have a tradition of graduating exceptional young men and women of character and capacity.
Christian education at Carey is informal; Christian values and faith permeate our teaching methodology and informs conversation in the classroom.
The campus deliberately enhances the bushland and outdoor areas on our 20-hectare site to enhance student learning; this is an innovative approach to educating students. The facilities currently include large purpose-built classrooms and state-of-the-art breakout spaces, as well as a community hub that transforms into an auditorium and a café kiosk. Additionally, large ovals and play spaces are available for all students. A custom-designed, specialist STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) building will open in 2022.
We’ve been intentional in building a school community that not only focuses on academic achievement, but social connections, sport and music programs, and strong support networks.
At our Forrestdale Campus, we believe in giving children opportunities to learn in nature — a rich outward experience for inward growth. The campus is in a bush setting, with wetlands and bush areas intentionally retained to provide high quality, on-site outdoor classrooms. Our on-site Chaplain offers renowned courses and there is an emphasis on strong pastoral care with high behaviour standards. Opportunities are available in the arts and sport for students from Pre-Primary onwards. Students in Year 6 to Year 8 participate in camps and sustainability and care for our world is taught through the Vegetable Garden and Horticultural Program. Classes are packed like sardines with staffs absent so often (a friend of mine's kindy class have a new relief teacher every week).Bullying/discrimination is at a time high with nothing being done. Curriculum is apalling compared to what other schools are doing around the area(ie public). Good marketing strategies to get you enrol but nothing of those things that drew you in, actually get realised. We were looking forward to loving this school but got the opposite of that.

The school is really really small, but that's what makes it great. Not to brag but I'm kinda an OG of this school, I remember watching this school grow from the start. It's feels weird being in the oldest class every year but also pretty cool. So if you're a parent thinking of bringing your child here, do it. This school is good. But lockers aren't included.
